Mobile Friendly Sites
Have you ever visited a site on your mobile, only to find it hard to scroll or difficult to read?
Mobile friendly (or responsive) websites are more important than ever. In 2013, 62% of people in the UK had a smartphone, and of those, 91% used the mobile internet daily, and 88% use Google on their phone. Your site should look as good on a mobile as it does on a computer.
It is especially important if you use social media. 67% of people with a smartphone have accessed a social network with it, and 83% of smartphone users have shared an item on social media on a smartphone. We shared a recent article through Facebook and more than 80% of the visitors to the article were through tablets and mobile devices.
Google has also started to add a ‘Mobile-friendly’ tags onto search results on mobile phones, so that visitors can easily see which sites are easy to use on a mobile. Along with this change, on the 21st April, Google will be making changes to their ranking system based on whether your site is mobile friendly. You can find out if your site is mobile friendly with Google’s Mobile Friendly Test here:
