Every website needs somewhere to live. We currently have 2 servers, one running Windows and one Linux which means we can handle most site requirements.
Whats important
Don't get hung up on the difference between Apache and FreeBSD, Windows and Linux. There are three essentials to consider when hosting, and you'll be pleased to know that we can tick all three boxes:
UK Based Datacentres
Don't even consider a datacentre away from your core market. Google doesn't like it, you are likely to be much lower in the search engine ranking is you host away from where your customers live and work. Cheap hosting tends to be in the USA.
Support levels
One stop shop for sorting out problems. We don't have a fancy 'Dial 1 for the office cat' system. Ring up and you'll speak to someone who can connect directly to the server your website lives on. They are remotely monitored anyway so the chances are you won't ever need to call.
File and Database Backup
Our severs both have remote off-site backup. More importantly, we test the backups too to make sure we can restore the data we have saved.
